Brandy Porter, formerly of Northumberland, Pennsylvania came to Rhode Island to pursue her education in Culinary Arts at Johnson & Wales University. As a young student intern at Avenue N Rumford, Brandy’s clear talents were visible almost immediately. As she grew and developed her skills as a Chef, it was evident that Brandy’s drive and work ethic would get her noticed. She is talented beyond her years and over the past three has continued to push herself to move beyond the boundaries of our menu, always working on creative, seasonal specials to present to our culinary team.
Prior to joining Avenue N Restaurant Group Brandy honed her skills in many popular restaurant kitchens including those of the renown Walt Disney World, a culinary program known for the highest standards of food, service and hospitality. We were fortunate to have Brandy bring with her many skills from her education and training but by far the most prevalent being her passion for all things food.
It has been exciting to watch Brandy develop into the strong and confident Chef she is today and we could not be more proud to have her leading our team. She has worked tirelessly to earn the respect and admiration of all those around her and she exemplifies everything that our company stands for. If you don’t find Brandy in control of the line in Rumford, she will likely be found curled up with her latest historical fiction novel or foraging ingredients for her next dinner party with her husband Eric, a professional baker. If you’re lucky enough, you may just get invited to join the fun!
